About

In the spring of 2019, Marygrace Farina earned her Ed.D in educational leadership from Florida Southern College. Her odyssey began in 1998 with her enrollment at Hillsborough Community College in pursuit of an associate degree in education.  Once attained, she soon received a BS in elementary education from the University of Tampa and four years later an MA in reading education from the University of South Florida. She has worked in the public-school system for twenty-three years, beginning in elementary school, then on to high school, adult education, and education preparation programs. Throughout her education, a focus on student centered learning led to a new direction in teacher professional development. The powerful impact of the professional learning community has and continues to be the focus of her research.  The results of her recent dissertation added to the body of knowledge that collective efficacy within a professional learning community affects a school’s academic performance.
